End Violence Against Women (EVAW) International is inviting abstracts for presentations to be given at our international conference which promotes innovative techniques, unique approaches, and promising practices in responding to crimes of violence against women.  The EVAW International conference takes a multi-disciplinary approach to training, bringing together all members of the first responder team.

We are seeking proposals for presentations that meet the conference objectives, which are to: 

  • Improve the care and response to victims of sexual assault, domestic violence and stalking;
  • Improve collaboration among first responders through a multi-disciplinary approach;
  • Improve the prosecution of all perpetrators of violence against women;
  • Promote effective prevention and risk reduction programs.

Evaluation Criteria:

  • Quality and originality;
  • Relevance to the field and multiple disciplines;
  • The extent to which the presentation identifies and addresses current and emerging issues facing first responders;
  • Contribution to the body of research in the field (i.e. proposals backed by scientific research will be given preference).

All workshops are 90 minutes in length. 
 
Deadline for submissions:  Friday, May 25, 2012

  1. Submit A Workshop Proposal Cover Sheet
  2. A CV (Curriculum Vitae) and/or Resume
  3. A Biographical Sketch
  4. An abstract (up to 500 words) describing the workshop
  5. At least four objectives

Your Submission will not be considered until all 5 documents have been received.

Optional supporting materials may include an outline, supplemental training materials, a PowerPoint, or a video or audiotape of the training.  Email your submission to abstracts@evawintl.org or mail to EVAW International, P.O. Box 33, Addy, WA 99101. 

Workshop Proposal Cover Sheet for each presenter and items 1 thru 4 must be submitted for proposal consideration. 

Other:  Selected presenters will receive a complimentary registration, two nights' hotel accommodations, as well as travel expenses.
