Iva Rody received a Bachelor of Science in Administration of Justice from Arizona State University in 1996 and has continued to serve as an advocate for crime victims in both the government and private sector. Ms. Rody has been successful at developing and implementing multiple law enforcement based Victim Assistance programs. Currently, Ms. Rody serves as the Victim Assistance Coordinator in El Mirage, Arizona where she devotes countless hours to program development, grant writing and technical support to various law enforcement agencies. Ms. Rody is regularly called upon to provide both sworn and non-sworn personnel training on current trends and best practices in Domestic Violence and Law Enforcement based Victim Assistance. Ms. Rody is a graduate of the Arizona POST Leadership Program. She serves on various committees including the IACP/International Association of Chiefs of Police Victim Services Committee, the Federal Bureau of Investigations ELEVATE Working Group, the Arizona Attorney General’s Victims’ Rights Advisory Council, the Arizona Criminal Justice Commission NICS Task Force, the Maricopa Association of Governments Regional Domestic Violence Council and Chairperson for the West Valley Domestic Violence Fatality Review Team. In 2013, Ms. Rody was recognized by the Arizona Attorney General for Distinguished Service in recognition of Outstanding Leadership On Behalf of Victims of Crime. Additionally, Ms. Rody lead the expansion of the El Mirage Police Department’s Victim Assistance Unit, which received recognition in the small agency category from the 2014 IACP Logon Excellence in Victim Services Awards.
