Special Agent Evans currently serves as the Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) Senior Representative on the staff of the Commander U. S. Fleet Forces in Norfolk, VA after serving as the Special Agent in Charge of the NCIS Norfolk Field Office.  In addition to 20 years with NCIS, she served as a police officer and homicide detective for eight years with the Norfolk Police Department, Norfolk, Virginia.  

Special Agent Evans has spent most her career with NCIS working general crimes, including larceny, robbery, homicide, and sexual assault, before becoming a supervisor in 2005.  Special Agent Evans is recognized as a subject matter expert in child crimes, domestic violence, and sexual assault investigations within the Department of Defense.  She testified before the Congressionally-appointed Response Systems Panel and the Judicial Proceedings Panel to review the investigation, prosecution, and the treatment of military sexual assault victims.  As the Division Chief for the Family and Sexual Violence program, Special Agent Evans became the face of NCIS in working with her Military Criminal Investigation Organizations (MCIO) counterparts in establishing policy pertaining to sexual assault investigations within the military services.
