Alison Jones-Lockwood
 
Alison Jones-Lockwood has been working in the field of violence against women for over 15 years, providing direct services to victims, as well as training and supervising victim advocates. She began her career working with survivors and advocates within the U.S. Navy, and has worked for rape crisis centers in California, Kansas, and Missouri. Ms. Jones-Lockwood was recognized as the Juliene Maska Advocate of the Year in 2010 by the Kansas Coalition Against Sexual and Domestic Violence.

Prior to her position with EVAWI, Ms. Jones-Lockwood served as Director of Advocacy with the Metropolitan Organization to Counter Sexual Assault (MOCSA) in Kansas City, Missouri. While there, she provided leadership for the agency volunteer program, and sexual assault services including victim advocacy, crisis intervention, systems advocacy, legislative advocacy, outreach, and professional education. She actively participated in four different Sexual Assault Response Teams (SARTs) in the Kansas City metropolitan area, and task groups for both the Kansas and Missouri statewide coalitions. As the Director of Advocacy, Ms. Jones-Lockwood successfully expanded victim advocacy services to two rural counties, transitioned the agency to a 24-hour live-answer crisis line, and created a regional model to prepare for an increase in hospital and law enforcement advocacy.

Ms. Jones-Lockwood has been working as a Training and Technical Assistance Specialist for EVAWI since 2011. In this role, she develops training content and resource materials, provides technical assistance for professionals and others, and manages EVAWI’s social media efforts. She is also involved in projects related to the Start by Believing campaign, including designing the website, supporting local campaigns, and organizing annual Start by Believing Day activities.

Ms. Jones-Lockwood has a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Education. She currently lives in Sacramento, California with her family.
