Rape and Sexual Assault Reporting Laws
|
Many states require medical personnel to make a report to law enforcement and/or social services following treatment of a child, elderly person or vulnerable adult who was the victim of a crime. Although most states do not per se require medical personnel to make a report when they have treated a rape victim who is a competent adult, other state statutes may have the impact of requiring that a report be made. |
